Michael was named the 2008
MAGICIAN OF THE YEAR

There is something about magic that touches people of all ages. It may actually be hard wired into us. That's what makes it ideal entertainment at almost any event.

It's easy to understand why children are fascinated by magic. Look at the popular stories they enjoy. Magic plays a major role in most of them. This is a wonderful time in their lives in which magic is real and part of their experience. Having a Magician at their birthday party - especially one like Michael that will make them part of the experience - automatically makes this a very special event.

Then we have teenagers. Most people think of them as a very tough audience for Magicians. They're young enough to remember when they thought Magic is real - and trying to become sophisticated enough to deny it all. Make no mistake, though, they still desperately want to believe!

What films have teenagers made very popular? Star Wars ... what part of them do you think the depictions of "The Force" touches? "The Lord of the Rings" That film is actually about a magical world. Harry Potter (the more sophisticated teenager may deride it ... after he's seen it, of course). That one speaks for itself.

Magic touches the hopes, wishes, and desires of teenagers just as much as it does others. A good Magician (and not all Magicians will work for teenagers ... Michael will, of course) will accept them as they are and use both their professed disbelief and their dreams to build the experience. The Magic that's part of the show will remain with them. After all, it touches their dreams.

Then we have adults. An audience full of people who absolutely know that nothing they are seeing is real. Or do they? At some level, almost everyone hopes that somewhere in the world there really is a little magic. That hope is part of their fondest memories (see children, above). They will also respond to the entertainment part of the show. If children / teens are present as well, most adults also respond to their reaction. But the real strength of the show comes from the basic hope that they can find some real magic ... somewhere.

In short, the very nature of magic makes it ideal entertainment for any event - be it a 16 year old birthday party ... or a bar mitzvah celebration for the greatest kid in the world. Why not Hire a Magician to Help Plan Your Special Party.
